The 16th (The Queen's) Light Dragoons Dismounted Troop is the re-created dismounted section of one of the two British Cavalry Regiments to serve with the British Army during the American Revolutionary War. This unit acts as a Light Company on the battle field. The time period presented by the unit is 1775 - 1783.
The 16th (The Queen's) Light Dragoons Dismounted Troop Military Re-enactment Group members are expected to attend the two or three official British Brigade battle re-enactment events each year and to participate in the recreation of the everyday life of the British soldier.
The soldiers of the 16th (The Queen's) Light Dragoons Dismounted Troop represent a spit and polish unit befitting their Colonel, who is also the General Officer Commanding, Brigadier General of the British Army.
The majority of the living history American Revolutionary War re-enactment events are held throughout the Northeastern United States and Canada. The recreated Regiment is a member of the British Brigade and most of the Troopers are also members of the Brigade of the American Revolution, two of the largest and most respected Revolutionary War living history organizations. |
